Official data emerged during a hearing before the Rome Capital Mobility Commission, where a detailed balance sheet regarding the management of paid parking in the first four months of the year was presented.
Surge in Inspections (+223%)
According to figures presented by Atac service managers, the reorganization of local activities led to record numbers compared to last year:

Total checks: Inspections carried out between January and April 2026 reached 2,286,000, compared to 706,000 recorded in the same period of 2025 (a net increase of over 200%).

Staff optimization: This spike was made possible through a restructuring of daily traffic warden operations and greater optimization of patrol routes.
Impact on Fines
The intensification of checks inevitably led to a rise in issued violations. In the first four months of 2026, approximately 135,000 fines were issued, compared to 89,000 during the same period in 2025.
